PLAGIARISM, as the layman’s term would refer to as copying.  A person’s work should not be copied whether in part or whole as it may result to claiming authorship originally done by someone else.

I believe, a writer can thwart himself from committing plagiarism.  It is through proper paraphrasing that a certain idea copied from another source will be cited out properly.  Plagiarism, as comparable to stealing is subject to retribution and should be given adequate instance of focus and deterrence.  Many writers’ work were already cited in many others’ writings but were not even given due citation or mention in their pieces.  Plagiarism, as commonly committed by writers although many were unaware of should be prohibited as it may evolve in a form of permitted stealing.

What is plagiarism? Plagiarism is the thing that all students need to avoid. Avoiding plagiarism has become the most important problem of all students. If you plagiarize – you get expelled or severely penalized. Nobody wants to get penalties for plagiarism, as it may harm the students reputation as well as damage the marks you get for the course. In time, students have come up with different ways for avoiding plagiarism. Avoiding plagiarism can be done only manually and not automatically, as there is no universal method to avoid plagiarism.

One of the ways – is rephrasing plagiarized sentences and abstracts. This is one good method of avoiding plagiarism. You simply understand the whole sense of the abstract or sentence and say it in your own words. This is good, but not in research papers, as some thoughts and ideas require research, and you have to provide specific example of your own research for this topic.

Another good way of avoiding plagiarism – is to write a paper who you are able to write it, and afterwards – check it using a plagiarism checker. This way you will be aware of the amount of plagiarism you wrote and will be able either to rephrase it, or simply delete it.

Be aware, not to sound too smart, as professors, tutors and instructors are people also, and can be suspicious of the vocabulary you use, and can simply not give credit to you because of plagiarized paper.
